| Introduction | For the past 28 years, I have been sick mostly with bronchial asthma. I had flu and pneumonia vaccine shots. I also had a maintenance medicine. All these to control my asthma. The maintenance medicine I brought with me wherever I go--until lately when I have forgotten about them since I had not been attacked by asthma. My type of asthma starts with a sore throat, followed by head ache, and within a week, unless prevented, full blown asthma attack that leaves me bedridden and shatters my self-esteem. Recently, I had a sore throat and I forgot how to deal with it. So, I had to see my doctor again. Through the years, doctors, my doctor included, prescribe the same set of medicines for sore throat on one hand, and asthma in another. If they change at all, it is only the brand, and of course, with it the price. And mostly, they are over-the-counter medicines. If I catalog my experience with sore throat and the things I do to stop it and succeed, I will save a lot of time and money. Or I will know when to go see the doctor and not panic. To do that, I decided to set up this blog. |
