| Introduction | Cambridge Rickshaw Theatre Project (formerly BackPact) is a travelling physical theatre project based at Cambridge University. Our project consists of 12 performers who work in a mix of different styles including clowning and mime, mask work, puppetry, movement, rhythmic body work and music-making. Although based in Cambridge, this year’s group members are originally from England, India, Mexico, South Africa and the United States. The project is independently run and organised by Cambridge University students and is currently in its 5 year. During August to September of every year, the project travels to India and Nepal to work with young people aged 8 to 18 yrs old who have had little to no opportunity to be actively involved in the performing arts. |
