Introduction I'm a smart guy, or at least I'm good at tricking people that I'm smart. In reality I am an average joe, starting to learn about all the things neccessary to survive in this modern world. And by survive I mean the modern definition, which is to be successful, fit, healthy, wealthy, happy, lead a balanced life. I studied maths and applied maths at WITS university. I achieved an honours degree with distinction. This meant I had plenty highly specific skills, such as how to derive boundary conditions in order to solve numerical partial differential equations. Or determine if a problem was parabolic, hyperbolic or elliptic in nature, and proceed in consuming 6 double sided A4 size pages in attaining the solution to said problem. I discovered I did not want to go into a career using these skills, so in true impervious logic fashion, I began studying a masters degree in even more abstract fields. Fortunately lady fate came to my rescue and landed me in a real world job, where the most complicated mathematical operation involved skills learned in primary school. I learned how common sense is not that common, and slowly began defining my identity and path in this life which I occupy.
