The Heart of Texas
My blogs
| Introduction | I feel like my political ideology is different than most peoples; I do not follow or support one particular political group but instead will make my decision on whom to support based on the candidates representing their respective political parties. I believe that neither the Republican, Democrat, or Libertarian party have been able to encompass everything that we need as a nation and therefore have decided to support who does the greatest good for the greatest number of people. I would say that my influences come from family members, friends, and peers and my ideology has formed through a political socialization process. I currently do not have any experience in politics and was unable to vote in the last election, but do intend on voting in this coming election (go Obama!) I am taking the class is simply because it is a requirement in Texas colleges to earn a degree; that is not to say that politics and Texas government don't interest me but I believe that there might be more exciting subjects to study. I do hope that at the end of this class that I will have a better understanding of the state/local government that controls so much of our lives and that we know so little about. |
