| Introduction | John Tarwater (Ph.D., Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) is a professor of Ethics and Biblical Studies, as well as the Director for two graduate programs at Dallas Baptist University. A native of Tennessee, John graduated from Carson Newman College (B.S. and M.A.T), Duke University (M.T.S.), where he studied with D. Moody Smith, and Southeastern Seminary (Ph.D.). John’s primary area of theological training is Christian ethics. More to the point, he has focused the majority of his research on marriage and covenants. He published Marriage as a Covenant with University Press, as well as various articles on marriage and covenants. John is married to the former Sheila Goins and they have seven children: Joshua, Benjamin, John Mark, Abigail, Rachel, David, and Sarah. |
