Introduction	I started blogging when I moved from California to Kentucky – bit of a culture shock there, I’m afraid – and was having a mid-life crisis of sorts. What to do? Build a life of family, home and volunteering? Try to re-enter the job market? I thought that writing about things, something I’ve always liked to do, would help me sort it all out; help me out of my life as a recluse. “Cathy without a plan” was born. But I got sidetracked. I couldn’t resist commenting on the news, on books I’ve read, people I’ve observed, life’s absurdities, and all manner of other things. I really haven’t been doing much ‘planning’ at all. Oh well. And in the meantime, I moved again – back to the west coast – and now have a whole new set of adventures that are surely interfering with serious planning. So I'm unsettled, indecisive and wishy-washy about what I should do ‘next'... which seems to suit me after all. I used to be one of life’s great planners. But now here I am, happily, "Cathy without a plan."
