| Introduction | As an engineer, Georgette worked 10 years in the international corporate environment, first getting involved with personal computers and their impact in the workplace and professional performance. Understanding corporate dynamics, weaknesses and strengths gave her the insights on how information articulation and peer learning developed in corporate atmosphere. Since then Georgette has also worked 10 years as a teacher in K-12 environment championing educational strategies that put to work her corporate experience making the educational approach more that of a learning venture for all participants, including teachers and staff. A believer in Constructivism, Collaborative Learning and Project Based Learning (PBL), long before she even knew them as educational concepts, she took up a Master's in Educational Technology, choosing to do it online, jointly between Tec de Monterrey (Mexico) and UBC (Canada). This experience added further depth and academic value to ideas she had brewed along her years of teaching. "Blended learning is the way of the future in K-12" she says, “we must prepare young students to continue their lifelong learning process online, as eager digital participants." |
