Introduction	I suppose I could say I’m a late bloomer to the fiber/needle arts. I taught myself to crochet about 2 years back, and decided to revisit knitting (after a near 40 year lapse) during this past winter. The Northern Virginia area got socked with some pretty big snowstorms so, while most people were queueing up in Giant with their TP and milk, I was at Michael’s snapping up a couple of knitting needles and a book or two. If I was to be snowed in, I figured, I might as well learn a new skill in order to give myself some more options when it comes to stash busting! Thanks to a full week off of work (gotta love being non-essential!) and a strong internet connection I soon found myself knitting a scarf. It looked good enough to consider giving it as a gift, and it was well received. (Or my friend was just being very tactful!) Anyway, several months later I can’t say I’m a better knitter than crocheter, nor whether I prefer one over the other. All I know is I’m itching to make something other than a scarf, afghan, pillow, or the odd, oddly-shaped oddment … I want to make a sweater!!!
