Favorite musicAnything by JS Bach, especially the piano transcriptions of which I own a shocking amount, Mozart but only the operas and a few symphonies. Saint Saens, esp. the piano concerti, Puccini, almost no Wagner, verdi's "Otello, and several 20th century operas, esp. Blitzstein's "Regina," previn's "streetcar named Desire," and Thomas Ades's "Powder Her Face." Musicals, esp Sondheim but not ALW.
Favorite booksCollected Works of: Emily Dickinson, WH Auden, Elizabeth Bishop. All of Jane Austen except Northanger Abbey, Andre Gide's "Strait is The Gate" and Enid Bagnold's "The Loved and Envied" and about 500 more.
