| Introduction | I am a journalist with 35 years experience, most of it with the New York Post, where I am associate editorial-page editor. I have also been a collector of historic newspapers and magazines, as well as journalism-related ephemera and manuscripts for over 25 years and have assembled what is probably the largest and most extensive such collection in private hands. I am a frequent contributor to encyclopedias, including the Encyclopedia of American Journalism (Routledge/Taylor & Francis, 2007), Encyclopedia of Politics: The Left and the Right (Sage, 2005), Encyclopedia of the Civil War (ABC-Clio, 2001) and the forthcoming Encyclopedia of the World Press (Fitzroy-Dearborn). I have been a consultant to the Ric Burns PBS series on the history of New York City and a BBC series on the history of photojournalism. My new book, "FDR's Deadly Secret," co-written with Dr. Steve Lomazow, will be published by PublicAffairs Books in January, 2010 |
