| Introduction | Consistently and continuously attempting to combine interests in how communications infrastructures work with how people interact with and communicate through them, I have worked and researched telecom for 15 years, both in companies providing services and in consulting to those companies. My primary research interests include the emergence of pervasive mobile networks and consequences for social networks, comm. law & policy, and peer-to-peer cultural production. My current research focus is on youth communication; and my doctoral thesis is entitled “A world more intimate: exploring the use of mobile phones to maintain and extend personal social networks”.
