| Introduction | Karen is over 56, born in December 1966. Completing year 10 at age 15. I found a job in a branch of the Australian Federal Government. I was there for 25 years and a handful of months, before I was medically retired. I went from living with mum and dad, to living with only mum, to living in a SIL (Supported Independent Living House). I've been in and out of hospital. My life revolves around finding out what some of my conditions (mental and physical) are and what they are called. I, choose to have no kids, and no partner. Mum and my Brother are it family wise. No animals. My current SIL, is with two other affected ladies, older than myself, with support from 24/7 support workers, and a raft of professional supporters, including CoS, OT, Physio, Behavourist, Psyche. While I have all four limbs, somedays I wish they weren't there. |
