| Introduction | I'm in my 40's, braver than I have ever been! I have two boys in their teens. My fabulous, supportive husband is from Australia. I have owned an antique store, been a juvenile court counselor (probation officer), love to paint furniture, signs, or anything that stands still too long! I believe a good sense of humor will keep depression at bay. I know it isn't always easy. My blog name came from Skippy, the chicken I raised from the day he hatched. He lived in the house for the first 4 months, then moved to the garage, and finally to the hen house. Turns out, he was a rooster! He hangs out with me whenever I'm working on projects in the basement. Hence, Chickens in the Basement! My list of "things to do" will keep me busy for at least 80 years. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. I laugh loud and often. I don't embarrass easily. Good thing since I tend to have dingbat moments more often than I'd like to admit! Come along for the ride! |

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?
Nope, but I'm afraid my eyeballs will float out!
