| Introduction | Wife, Mama, Nana, new Catholic convert. Cat lover/hater. I have two. Penny who is aloof, lovely and long haired. The Burmese, Shadow, aptly named, who is as near as he can be during his waking hours. Thank God for catnaps! I love making quilts for my grandchildren. Penny helps by laying on them in every stage of development. Shadow, on the other hand, likes to perch on my shoulders while I'm at the machine. What is it about quilts and cats? You will often find me in the garden pruning, cutting, or caring for my flowers or weeding, hoeing, and debugging the vegetables. All flowers are lovely, edible or otherwise! Few things are as lovely to me as a row of cabbages. Lovely green roses! I love to see my counter piled high with fresh veggies ready to be processed for the coming year. My reading nowadays is pretty well centered on learning all I can about my new faith. Well, my faith isn't actually new since I was "born again" when I was a teen, but I am so enthralled with the new expressions of faith in the Catholic Church. It's so much deeper and wider than I ever knew. I love the sacraments, the saints, and all the bells and smells, as they say. |
