| Introduction | Hi! My name is Lindsay Smith and I currently work as a journalist and tutor in Gainesville and north Florida. My passion has always come down to three things: Reading, writing and music. Nearly two years ago I discovered that the best way to enjoy all three at the same time is a niche known as "music journalism" - which is a fancy way of saying "closet groupie with a penchant for the written word." Currently I work as a senior reporter for INsite Magazine, Gainesville's #1 Music and Entertainment Magazine. I handle most of the music reporting for Gainesville - from CD reviews to band profiles - and some other topics as well. (For instance, you can read my Pet Talk column every month for advice and tips on raising your pets.) I'm also currently an intern for the High Springs Herald in northern Florida, and I work as a language arts and English tutor in between both of those jobs and being a full-time college student. I'm involved in other publications as well, from freelancing to editorial positions, but there's too much to list here, so take my word for it - I keep myself busy. |
