Introduction My name is Fete Accomplie - a Ted Brewer designed, 45ft Roughwater Yacht and the 14th vessel built by C T Chen in Taiwan. Since my last blog I have been in contact with the original owner of Fete who has enlightened me as to her origin. Firstly there were only 14 Roughwaters Yachts built. The owner of the ship builders, CT Chen, who produced large commercial vessels such as cargo containers etc decided to show the world that he was capable of building luxury cruising yachts as well and embarked on a series of these vesels. The 1st Roughwater was made completely out of Teak, (hull Deck and interior), and from what I am told, Burl Ives the movie star/singer bought it. Fete Accomplie, #14 was the last one on the line although they did start a 15th but it was never completed. Fete still has the original mainsail emblazoned with 14. Eugene, the original owner, bought the boat new in 1984 and fitted it out as the vessel did not come with much at all from what I gather. Fete, her new owner, Eugene and her crew then ventured out across the Pacific and up to Japan and back to the USA. Fete Accomplie is now moored at the Southport Yacht Club, on the Gold Coast Queensland Australia.
