| Introduction | Pseudonym for Renée Grashoff, published author of Boerenwormkruid and Zwaartekracht www.trichisboeken.nl.WEBSITE: www.renee-grashoff-schrijft.nl Creativity drives me, nature sustains me. Hunky Dory offers an outlet for my creativity. Gardening and singing get me 'out of my head', and provide a change from writing. I maintain two gardens, one on my balcony and one on my allotment, and in both I have to deal with the prevailing SW wind which whips through it, and the damp Dutch delta climate. And for the last years, worryingly dry Spring and Summer months! My soil is heavy clay and there are armies of slugs. My soil is soggy in autumn and winter and then turns into concrete in spring and summer. In principle I use as many perennials as possible and am a follower of the new perennial movement.I do not use poisons! That means I sometimes struggle to grow my veggies to a point where I can actually eat them.I garden on a shoestring and try to be as sustainable as possible, repurposing other people's junk, using my two left hands, but fortunately I have one green thumb.Welcome to my world :-) |
