| Introduction | Growing up in Southern California, life revolved around riding horses & waves. I now live in Botswana; a peaceful, sparsely populated country in Southern Africa. I trained horses for 30 years in California. I was a USAE/IAHA horse show judge & officiated in the US, Canada & South Africa. I trained US National Champion horses & riders. I work part time at Okavango Horse Safaris in the Okavango Delta, where I spent 4 years when I first came to Botswana. I taught scuba in the Sea of Cortez in Sonora, Mexico & led international dive tours, then "went corporate" & worked for PADI International for 10 years. I enjoy writing & have been published in equestrian & diving magazines & am writing a book about my experiences in Africa. I am fortunate to be able to travel in Africa & have been spending a lot of time in Mali. Hence the inception of horse riding treks with the Tuareg, Dogon & Fulani people. When at home in my house in the trees above the Nxamasere channel of the Okavango River, I enjoy minding my curio shop; Ndalama Creations, fly fishing for Tiger Fish and Bream, writing, reading & studying French (for Mali) & Setswana (for Botswana). |
