| Introduction | I'm a cathedral builder. Cathedrals--those beautiful stone, wood, and stained glass masterpieces of architectural artistry that were built by the faithful as a place of worship. I build them. Well, not literally. I'm a metaphorical Cathedral builder (my junior high shop teacher is wiping the sudden sweat off his forehead and saying "whew!"; I'm sure he passed me out of pity and not because I was tremendously talented at using the tools of his trade). My cathedrals are the students I work with every day. They are the material that I shape and tool and sand until the rough edges are gone and the light shines through their windows to show forth the beauty that their Creator intended for them to be. I don't claim to be their creator; I am merely one of many workmen and builders who collaborate to make these masterpieces shine. |
