Introduction	Ran Beaconsfield Arms in Bridlington, where men are men and sheep are nervous. Another four and half year stint followed when moved to York and The Old White Swan. Became a promoter in York when Michelle and I invented, ran and booked Fibbers from 1992 until 2008; and then The Duchess from 2008 until 2010. Getting on for nearly a million folks put in to Stonebow House; sorry to the neighbours ... We also ran the original Duchess Of York on Vicar Lane in Leeds for six years as well as The Blues Bar in Harrogate. Pretty much everything you see on today’s big stages has been inked in the Mr H diary. I work closely with Stubbsy and book from 100 cap upwards. I like music, Guinness, gin, reading, food, science, history, film noir, Philip Larkin, Rudyard Kipling, The Larry Sanders Show and spending time with the kids (and their kids). Can't beat it. I could happily live on cheese and onion crisp sandwiches, beans on toast, Coco Pops and deep pan pizza with anchovy and pineapple. And Marlboro.
