| Introduction | For the girl who collected all the National Geographic magazines and the boy who wanted to be Indiana Jones. I wish to capture every moment. For anyone who thirsts to do/see something, and/or unable to. I am an anthropologist who uses photography, and has a strong interest in documenting. In my field, I am required to read a lot. Though I take pleasure in it, a lot of people do not. There are so many things people would find interesting or should know about it, so I wish to bring forth a visual aid. I love all forms of art: music, anime, history… Books, magazines, and certain television programs gave me a chance to learn about diverse cultures and helped me to become aware of other events, people, and places that I wouldn’t normally be able to see. They all have the power to open you up to another world where one is free to express themselves. My life happens in chapters, but it all comes together. Everyone has a story. Still, whether it’s a new rock band, learning about the Choctaw, doing a study on Asian vs. African elephants, or conducting research on my excavations, I wish to capture each moment through my lens and reflect it upon the world. |
