| Introduction | I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Los Angeles, California after I was discharged from the army and attended a variety of colleges and universities until I was ordained and worked as an associate pastor at an inner city church in the Highland Park District of L.A.. After I moved to Salem, Oregon I began working as a freelance photographer and journalist, specializing in both music and religion, and have published thousands of articles, interviews, essays and photographs in scores of books, ezines, magazines and newspapers over the last 2 decades. I am currently finishing a 2 volume history of Contemporary Christian Music, for Greenwood Publishing. I began driving a taxi 3 days a week in 2004 to pick up some extra money, since the bad economy caused a number of the publications that I worked for to fold up. At the same time, I realized that I had a gold mine of stories, so I began recording them in my journal, and began this blog last December 2009. My intent was to write 100 entries of 1000 words, more or less, that would be chapters, of what would eventually become my book, “The Transcendent Taxi Cab.” |
