| Introduction | The labourer at the Neyshekar Haftapeh, Kaghaz Pars (paper Company), and Shushtar(Karoun) Can factory, which produces sugar and paper and related products, say they haven't been paid for several months. They are also calling for better working conditions, syndicate, human and civil rights. They say we will not stop our strike until we can get the syndicate base on international labourer law and labourer rights as well as international based Labourer law benefits and pending wages. The government has reacted by arresting a number of labourers and sentencing them to jail and whippings. Khuzestan province is one of the reachest region of southwest of Iran; most of major Oil and gas and sugar and steel production are based in this region. Reports say Intelligence service Special Forces and Dezful revolutionary guard has threatened the labourer and said that their protest will be met with force.several were detained. |
