| Interests | Field biology, particularly of bryophytes and lichens, with a quantitative slant. Now retired, I've begun a long term project to record the situation of four sites having specific moss patches near my home. I visit these weekly, and apart from initial collections of specimens for identification purposes, my surveys are photography, primarily macrophotography of the specific patches. The hope is to collect enough photographic data to reveal more about the yearlong cycles, and to support phenological studies, once this goes on for several years. These will be assembled into a publicly accessible database at some point. |
