IntroductionBorn in Tokyo, Yayoi lived on three continents by the time she was five. “I don’t know how to NOT think globally,” she says. An artist, filmmaker and writer, Yayoi is the director of the five-part series, “War Brides of Japan”, a docu*memory. She’s also completed several short films and is creating her feature narrative “Watermelon Sushi”. Additionally, Yayoi is self-publishing several books—a collection of short fiction, a novella and a novel about a Caribbean family. All of her characters are either in interracial relationships or else are multiracial. Meanwhile, a line of t-shirts for mixed-race folks, their friends and families is available at https://www.redbubble.com/people/yayoiclanart/shop or https://www.teepublic.com/user/yayoiclanart
