Introduction Lamees Dhaif is a Bahraini journalist, active in the Bahraini resistance campaign. She is renowned for political and social criticism, including satirical articles. She has written in various newspapers in the Persian Gulf region, but has been banned from writing since the start of the revolution in Bahrain because she is an oppositionist. Dhaif has presented a program on Al-Rai and is a human rights activists. Lamees Dhaif has won several awards including: Best Investigative Report in 2004, the Excellence Award in Journalism in 2008 (in the Second Regional Conference on Women), and was honored as best writer by the Women's Union in the International Women's Day in 2009. She has won the Tully Award for Freedom of Speech from New York and was voted as the Bahrain Woman of the Year 2011 according to an independent internet poll. Lamees Dhaif was voted among the most popular women on Twitter in the Arab world according to the magazine "Arageek"
