| Introduction | Born and raised in Muskegon Heights I learned photography from my dad, watched hawks since boyhood, and played with computers since 1982. In 1978 while looking for hawks, I met a Muskegon County Nature Club field trip group and tagged along. Since then I've learned about dickie birds (non-hawks) from my friends in the club, my younger son Andy, and my computer. After retiring from 35 years as an English teacher at Oakridge Public Schools, I created the original club website, as much as a computer exercise as a birding one. The "Recent Sightings" page became blog-like with frequent reports and photos. Later, for technical reasons, I switched that page and the club's homepage to blogs. |
