| Introduction | Leslie Stagmaier Thomas is an Atlanta artist who grew up on Signal Mountain, Tennessee and began frequenting museums at home and abroad at a young age. She has studied the work of the masters and has collected fine art for over three decades. The daughter of two talented artists, Leslie has always had an interest in and an eye for color and design, but only began drawing and painting after she raised her children. Leslie most enjoys painting from life and is fascinated with light and how it reveals a subject’s character as well as its ability to influence the viewer’s emotional response. She enjoys a variety of subject matter, but drawing and painting the human form is her first love. Leslie began studying painting with Marc Chatov in 2004 and has also studied drawing with Ben Smith in Atlanta and figure drawing and human anatomy with Michael Burban and Robert Cenedella at the Art Student’s League in New York. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BBA; MBA) and the Netherlands School of Business. Leslie has participated in many group and juried shows and her paintings and drawings are found in private collections throughout the United States. |
