Introduction | Patty wanders in experience that started in a time, place, body, and environment not of her choosing and romps in a "running sea of circumstance" (Emerson). In reaction (never action) she hurls headlong into a Now conditioned by past adventures, social situations, animal instincts, etc., ad infinitum. nything we learn about her is a story created of memory and reaction to memory – an elaboration built to elicit a particular reaction from you.Anything you tell yourself about her is just your construct, created by what you see, taste, feel, smell of her, elaborated on by your memories and desires. If I say she's an artist, you may think of Thomas Kinkade, Kandinsky, or Karl Marx. Your mind's eye may see a matronly woman with her hair up in a bun with sensible shoes and a light blue smock writing graffitti on subway lines. You may think I'm delusional (or drearier, fantasizing). You may decide to befriend her to get a piece of the artist action for yourself. There are eight million stories in Emerald City. . . And whatever you tell yourself now, is just one of them. Patty B is an everyday, ordinary, usual illusion. |
