Introduction | I was born in the South and raised on a farm. It wasn’t long before I realized that milking the cows and tending to the chickens was not my thing. I discovered very early in life that I liked to draw and it became quite apparent that I was good at it. I won my first art contest in second grade by drawing Batman (little did I know that I would be given the opportunity to draw him professionally). The next contest I won was in Junior High when my anti drug poster took first place after that I entered a few competitions in High School and was always among the top three places. I went on to attend Jackson State University on a full music scholarship. I spent a lot of time in band practice and majored in engineering, however my love of art kept tugging at my heart. My major changed to art in my second year when I realized that you must follow your passion. I was president of the art club for two years and was very instrumental in making a number of changes that are still being implemented today. I enjoyed college very much and I find that every day I can pull something that I learned from there. |
