Introduction	I'm embedded in the waste management and recycling arena, here in the UK and have eight years experience operating a waste management facility, providing technical advice and support to other operators and ensuring compliance with the "Permitting" system. However, over the past two years, I've started to branch out, finding interest in global legislation, environemntal management and getting to grips with Environmental Management Systems, EIAs and Environmental Risk assesments. Given all that, the recycling sector continues to innovate and provides a really fascinating an exhilerating field to work in. The use of Anerobic Digestion, refuse derived fuels, mechanical biological and thermal treatment plants and the run of the mill transfer and treatment facilities, all add to a very diverse mix that is far more innovative that the traditional landfill routes of 20 years ago.
