| Introduction | 2 years ago, while living in Las Vegas, we made a five year plan to buy a farm and move away. Chris would teach at a local college and drum up local gossip while I'd create art and super hip clothes that my daughter won't wear, and we'd make soap, farm vegetables, milk goats, and grow old. In August (2012) we packed our stuff, the kids, the cat, and ourselves into a moving van and drove east. Through 7 states (the kids counted them often) and ending up just across the MN boader in Baldwin, Wisconsin. It's a little different than Vegas. A little less glittery, a lot more down home. Less about restaurants and more about recipes. Amazing place to live and eat. No malls (thank you!), reasons to sit outside and drink beer, and a thousand things to draw inspiration from. We've happily joined the exodus from city to farm, returning to the land with a recent urban backdrop. |
