| Introduction | Who am I? You sit out there in space somewhere reading what I type, and me sitting before a keyboard watching words slowly fill the screen as I move my fingers with as much grace as I can muster across a field of keys each marked with a letter to indicate the effect they would have. Who am I? I am a shadow, a ghost writer, a voice that speaks no words but proclaims the tales of those who never existed. I am a creator, an author, sitting in a dark room formless, existing only as the words and letters that fill your screen permit, but I do have some say in this, for the words on your screen are the ones I chose, and they would not exist if I didn't make them so. However, what effect do these words have if they never make it to your screen? Do I exist without an audience? To me there is only the words and a hundred thousand worlds yet to be written. To you there is just the screen, displaying what I allow it to display, revealing what I allow it to reveal, saying only what I give it to say... yet all and your whim. I have no body, exist in no form: the words are all that give evidence to my presence. Read them, please, for they are all that I can offer. |
