| Introduction | I'm 49, diagnosed with lung cancer despite having NEVER smoked.It took at total of 17 months for me to get a diagnosis. Even after I collapsed with pleuritic chest pain and had a CT scan that showed a large mass I was diagnosed with pneumonia. It took a further 4 months fo me to convince my GP I hadn't got pneumonia and refer me to a specialist. I ended up having major surgery, a thoracotomy to get a diagnosis. By now I had an 11cm main tumour which had already spread, I was inoperable I decided to write down all my thoughts and feeling and hope it will help me come to terms with my illness and maybe help others. |
