| Introduction | I’m a minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA), retired after serving for over 40 years in the parish. I’ve also served as: Chair of the General Assembly’s Special Committee on the Lord’s Supper, 1974-1978; Visiting Lecturer in Worship at Louisville Theological Seminary, 1978; member and chair of Worship Committee of the Advisory Council of Discipleship and Worship, 1983-1984; Chair, task force to produce Daily Prayer, 1987 and The Psalter, 1993; Member of the Editorial Board of “Reformed Liturgy and Music,” 1988-1995; Chair, task force to produce Book of Occasional Services, 1999. I’m the author of two books, A Worship Handbook for Church Officers and Leaders, 1990, and The ABCs of Worship, 1992, and numerous articles on worship. I was also a contributor of liturgical material to the following publications: The Worshipbook, 1970; Daily Prayer, 1987; The Book of Common Worship, 1993 (to which I was also an editorial consultant); and The Book of Occasional Services, 1999. In retirement, I worked until recently as public relations specialist for The Community Hospice in New York's Capital Region. |
