| Introduction | I was born in Rotterdam, Holland in 1939 and my early years weren't happy as my family were struggling through Nazi occupation. Never the less we survived those horror years and from then on I lived a happy and sheltered life with loving parents. In 1955 my mother and father decided to migrate to Australia to build a new life. I was young and carefree and enjoyed the great adventure of moving to a new land. I eventually married at a young age and had 7 beautiful children. I ran away from an unhappy marriage and made a new life for myself and my children in Queensland. I've never remarried. To this day I'm still surrounded by my 7 children. I now have many grand children and great grand children. I love them all dearly. I began to write poetry as a way to vent, express, and to escape for a moment from my present situations and just write, relax and be at peace. I write to release my own thoughts and because it helps to relieve the pain I feel about situations and events. I also like to express my happy thoughts.
