| Introduction | During the day, I am Collection Development Manager for St. Charles City-County Library District (MO). At other times, I am The RAT Queen and proud of it! 'Tales from the RAT Queen' was developed as a means to expand interest in and knowledge of readers' advisory tools and techniques. I am a member of the Booklist Advisory Board and serve on the Listen List and Louis Shores Award committees of the Reference and User Services Association (a division of ALA). I have served on RUSA's Zora Neale Hurston, Notable Books, and Reading List award committees and co-chaired the RUSA CODES Readers' Advisory Committee. I contributed chapters to ALA Editions' The Readers' Advisory Handbook (2010) and the forthcoming Libraries Unlimited publication, Crossover Readers' Advisory: Maximize Your Collection to Meet Reader Satisfaction (2015). Through state and national conference programs and the occasional webinar, I enjoy exploring means for staff to provide reading advice and tips about RA tools. |
