Introduction Peter Doo created Doo Consulting in 2007 to guide organizations in sustainability and green building. Before creating Doo Consulting, Peter was the sustainability officer in an architectural firm. He has focused on sustainable design and construction for many years. Peter is the founding president of the USGBC Maryland Chapter. He chaired the North East Corridor Regional Council of the USGCB and served on its National Chapter Steering Committee. Peter is co-chair of the Baltimore City Green Building Taskforce where he reached out to the community to craft recommendations for Baltimore City. Peter is a commissioner on the Baltimore City Sustainability Commission and a member of the State of Maryland Green Building Council. He is also a past president of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Peter has designed many LEED projects including the Friend’s Community School in Greenbelt, MD which targeted LEED-Silver certification and is built of straw bale construction. He is now helping the Baltimore Medical System pursue a LEED platinum rating for a health clinic and Starwood Hotels with a “Volume Build Certification” for a new line of LEED certified hotels.
