Introduction	Hi, I am Jayne from Melbourne currently studying towards a BA and will be majoring in psychology and sociology. I am the President of the Deakin Mature Age Students Club and am very interested in helping mature age students connect and engage with others in order to optimise the University experience. When I started Uni, I felt quite isolated being one of the few older students in my tutes. It was hard maintaining a work/life balance and studying as a single parent. I eventually connected with other mature age students online via DSO and met up with them. After discovering many of us felt the same way, we decided to set up the Mature Age Students Club, which is now officially affiliated with DUSA. My advice to all new students is to definitely attend OWeek and Study Skills workshops. Join a DUSA club and to make studies easier, you could download and read lecture notes beforehand. I make sure I read the subject outline before attending lectures.
