| Introduction | Ten days shy of my 34th birthday I became a mom. Everything changed on that amazing day, but not in the ways I expected. Things I never thought I would feel, I suddenly felt. Things I never thought I'd do, suddenly I did. The person I never thought I'd be, suddenly I was. I became a breastfeeding, baby-wearing, cloth diapering, stay-at-home mom. Something that didn't change, though, was my love of the outdoors. Having a baby during a Wisconsin winter suddenly threatened my time outside. So, this blog will be a way for me to share with the world my journey of figuring out how to be an outdoor mommy. I want to be a healthy, happy, outdoor mommy so I can raise healthy, happy, outdoor children. |
| Interests | Outdoors: Biking (road and mountain), skiing (downhill and XC), running (preferably trail), snowshoeing, hiking, camping, climbing, kayaking, and gardening. Mommying: Cloth diapers, breastfeeding, baby wearing, natural parenting. |
| Favorite movies | I love to laugh, and Will Ferrell makes me laugh. |
| Favorite music | Kris Delmhorst, Jeffery Foucault, and Peter Mulvey...but I especially love when they play together as Redbird. I also love anyone else who plays at Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson...what a magical place. |
| Favorite books | Vacation Books that I don't have to think about too much: Jodi Picoult. I also love anything I've read by Hemingway--he makes me want to travel. |
