Introduction | Lala's mother first taught her the love of books by demonstration, finding daily time devoted to reading. Lala was no doubt a premiere and loyal monthly subscriber to Dr. Seuss’s children’s books, and years later, one of the first teenage girls to hide Erica Jong’s 'Fear of Flying' deep under the folds of her mattress. Lala is passionate about all the arts. Her fifth grade teacher, Miss Macey, was the first mentor to suggest she consider a career in writing. A career highlight came when legendary author Sidney Sheldon endorsed her writing with several blurbs and mentorship. Her peers often compare her writing voice to his, of which she is most humbled. Lala is a desert rat. She nestles there with her husband of over 20 years, Chuck, and the kid-cats, Bibelot, Sidney and Charlotte. She has three sons: Jason, a grad of the University of Colorado, Cameron, a grad of Vanderbilt University , and Tyler, a grad of the University of Puget Sound. She’s a full-time writer. Interests include her professional critique partnerships, art, gardening, entertaining, bridge, and enjoying the abundant wildlife that have found a sanctuary on her grounds. |
Favorite Books | Lala’s early eclectic ring of favorite authors included Christie, Hemingway, and Tolkien. Today Lala's favorites include Grisham, Patterson, John Sandford, and UK novelist Minette Walters. |
