Introduction	My greatest influence on cooking was my beloved grandmother, Charlotte Jane. Today is her birthday. How fitting to start this blog with her as my guide, on her actual birthday. I know she is looking down at me and laughing that I would name her as such an inspiration. She was an extremely talented woman, but very humble. I still cherish my memories of her, cooking away in the kitchen, and me talking ( and asking) questions non stop. We would spend whole afternoons like this. What I wouldn't give to have another cooking afternoon with my grandma. I mentioned her name is Charlotte Jane. It hit me one day to name my blog after her, with a play on her name. Shallot Jane was started on her 87th birthday. My blog is dedicated to all who love to cook. I love to cook, and also love to learn. Since I can't enroll at the Cordon Bleu, I have taken on the task to self learn. I will share all that I find along the way. Happy Birthday grandma, thank you for teaching me the love that food can bring!
Favorite Music	Glen Miller- reminds me of my grandma, 80's music- reminds me of growing up, and now I pretty much like every genre.
Favorite Books	I am really into vampires right now.
