Introduction I'm a 32 divorced Orthodox male who lives in Ensenada. Yes, that's in Mexico. I don't give in to fear like so many people. I don't hang out with drug dealers. I have an artistic bug that expresses itself best in photography and mounting Orthodox icons (and other "holy" images). It's actually far more complex and artistic that it sounds, and requires quite a bit of patience. Music is life...and how I express myself... I love Superman and all the various spinoffs and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and escapist fiction, but it needs to have a certain kind of "message" to it. I deplore violence...hate it...it disgusts me...but, I have a dark side that is very, very dark... Brooding is something I have down to a science. I love walking alone in the forest or on the beach, but its even better with a beautiful woman. I would live on the ocean if I could also have mountains. I choose the mountains instead of the ocean for the time being. I lived in Northern Ireland. I'm off Irish-Russian stock. I wish I had children...and will leave it at that.
Interests Nearly anything can be intersting, can't it? But, I would say that music, women, and wine are at the top of my list. I have started scuba diving again, and swimming, and, well, I am enjoying this "space change" that I am going through currently by living here in Mexico.
Favorite Movies Superman I, Superman II, X-Men(1-3), Spiderman (1-2, 3 sucked), Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (except Episode 1), various Pixar movies, Lion King, Indiana Jones movies, Harry Potter movies, and a few really weird dramas. Why do religious films almost always suck? I love this Russian movie called "The Island", and "Jesus Christ Superstar" is great fun.
Favorite Music Sarah McLachlan's music helped save my soul. Complex, but true. I love Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young and Bob Seger and Tom Petty and, well, the list goes on and on and on. Joni Mitchell. Led Zepplin. The Clash. Midnight Oil. I'm just spitting out examples. Tracy Chapman. Johnny Cash. The Band. Some of the Beatles. A little of Pink Floyd. Elliott Smith, Tom McRae, Arco, Modest Mouse, and, oh, how could I forget, Bob Dylan, and even Cat Stevens, and the Shins, and, well, like I said, it could fill a book... And, Chopin is my favorite when it comes to classical.
Favorite Books I Know This Much is True, by Wally Lamb, The Confessions of St. Augustine, Harry Potter I-VII. Oh, well, the list goes on and on, although I must admit I've been in a literary drought of sorts the past year. Oh, and C.S. Lewis, and David Gates, and Laya Smith (who happens to be my sister), and, well, this could fill another book...

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?

No, but I'm a good swimmer. I had a pool when I was growing up, so I am like a fish in the water. The idea of drowning is completely terrifying to me...I can't imagine a worse death...
