Introduction I worked in Washington, D.C. for 25 years, most of that time as an employee of the U.S. government. I worked at five different federal agencies in multi-billion dollar programs at the field, and regional and headquarters levels. At my last federal job, at the U.S. Dept. of Energy, I worked as an internal Management Auditor. After reporting the cause of hundreds of millions of dollars in wasteful spending, I was dismissed from the federal service. After that, I created and moderated an email-list on "reinventing government" (REGO-L) that grew to over 1,000 subscribers (1993-95). Then I set up the first ever web-forum that allowed the public to comment on a federally proposed project (i.e., permanent closure of Penn. Ave. in front of the White House, 1997). Because of my years of work in "open government", I am very interested in the Obama adminstration's attempt to make government "work better and cost less" by making the workings of government more clear, and open to improvements by citizens inside and outside of government. Feel free to contact me in complete confidentiality (see column to the left: Contact / Email).
