| Introduction | I'm a writer and urban planner who has loved living in Michigan my whole life but recently picked up and moved to New Haven, CT. I grew up in Redford, just outside Detroit, where the bizarre divide between the city to the east and the outer suburbs to the west got me thinking about all these things. I'm also a language dork, a tap dancer, a bike rider, a Spanish speaker, and a doer of other stuff. I approach urban and other issues from a Detroit regional, Midwest rust, transit riding, anxious but hopeful, young person perspective. I'm not an expert on anything, and what I write doesn't represent the views of any place I work for, used to work for, or might someday work for. |
