| Introduction | My creative spirit was awakened as a child during my summers on the beach in Marshfield, MA. I spent my school years in Newton and graduated from Wellesley College in 1968 with a renewed inspiration for creating and a degree in art history. I developed my passion for creating and expressing my values and ideas through art during my thirty-six year career teaching art in Framingham, MA. From 1968 through 2006 professional development led me to MA College of Art, Danforth Museum School and other classes and workshops with professionals.. During those years, I had vast exposure to and experiences with many artists, museums and mediums. Developing young artists was rewarding, but teaching and my two children limited my time for creating my own work. Since retiring in 2006, I have had the luxury of devoting my time to my painting and to focus on expanding my own artistic voice. My journey began in 1964 with James Wilson Rayen and Sigmund Abeles. I have been fortunate since retiring to study with Susan Kelley, Jonathan Leo Fairbanks and Dianne Panarelli Miller. My journey continues. |
| Interests | Member of the NAEA, MFA, Foxboro and Dedham Art Associations and board member Norwood Art Association. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 I was awarded first place for my oil paintings in the FAA annual shows. I've also received several other awards in FAA and Norwood Art Association shows, including "Best in Show" and the People’s Choice award in the Norfolk Cultural Council Juried Show, 2012, and Judge's Choice Award in the Hull Lifesaving Museum Juried Show, 2013, Best in Show, 2016 Norwood Art in the Park, Best in Show, Patriot Place, Foxboro 2018. Art work has recently been displayed at: Rockland Art Center, Rockland, MA Zullo Gallery, Medfield, MA One Love Marketplace, Burlington, VT The Inn at Grace Farm, Fairfax, VT Hen of the Wood, Waterbury VT The Woodshed Gallery, Franklin, MA Fountain Street Gallery, Framingham, MA The Gallery at Patriot Place, Foxboro, MA Norwwod commerce Center, Norwood, MA And various library and business venues |
