Introduction | I guess I grew up between Arlington and Albuquerque; life was a journey. I changed schools 22 times in 12 years. If kindergarten existed, either my parents didn’t know it, we couldn't afford it, or we were moving the month it started so I just skipped it. My dad was NOT military; I never met a military kid who moved as often. Dad was a gifted man of admittedly questionable principles, looking for greener pasture. So we moved, and he tried it all. As a senior, the family moved to Lometa, TX. There I won the prize of this life, Barry, who has loved me with a passion and commitment I never dreamed existed. He remains the best decision I ever made, a gift I never deserved, and the love of my life. We have three sons, two daughters-in-love, and four delightfully amazing grandchildren. I direct a non-profit dedicated to renewing, equipping, honoring and uniting women in ministry around the world: Come before Winter, Inc. I have a degree in journalism from UTexas and a masters in biblical studies from Abilene Christian. I love the Lord and trust him to transform me day-by-day into the image of His Son. The journey continues. I am forever blessed and renewed. |
Interests | Travel, writing, reading, thinking, playing (or doing ANYTHING, with my grandchildren, being with my family. |
Favorite Movies | When Harry Met Sally, The Mission, Goonies, The Princess Bride, Pillow Talk, (and I have trouble remembering them all). I like movies. |
Favorite Music | Jazz, Soft(er) Rock |
Favorite Books | Gordon Fee, Luke Timothy Johnson, Marva Dawn, Dallas Willard. Also like fiction: especially Maeve Binchy; also John Grisham, the early "Scarpetto" books, even (when I can)Janet Evanovich's number books. The woman has a great sense of humor and creates crazy, unforgettable characters. |
