IntroductionI'm mom to six, four here and two angels. The oldest is Nigel, genius behind this blog and manager of the family "Learning to Love You More" project that we are undertaking. I was in the software industry for over 20 years in every SDLC capacity. Made a drastic career change a couple of years ago. Had a slight setback lately, but hope to get back on track soon. I'm larger than life, love words and putting them together, always feel pulled in many directions and none of my time belongs to me.
InterestsWaldorf Education, needlework, jigsaw puzzles, uninfected PCs,
Favorite moviesTrue Grit, The Muppet Movie, African Queen, All Star Trek movies, ditto Star Wars (except Episode III), Forrest Gump, Cool Hand Luke, The Great Escape and anything with Harry Potter or Shirley Temple.
Favorite musicPop, rock, folk, hip-hop, some alternative, crooners, oldies, a little bit of classical and (don't tell Nigel) country.
Favorite booksMore like favorite authors: Sue Grafton, Lindsey Davis, Dick Francis, Jonathan Gash, Rex Stout, Georges Simenon

Which do you prefer and why: whittling with soap or whistling with wood?

Definetly whittling with wood. Soap is too slippery and rather impermanent. Wood may be less forgiving, but feels better in the hand. It seems more natural.
