| Introduction | I have been a registered nurse for 3 decades caring for patients with palliative and end of life care needs. I completed post-doctoral training at IUPUI, with an interest in promoting and maintaining a high standard of palliative and end of life care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, patients utilizing life-sustaining technology, and the health and well-being of caregivers. I published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals and am the recipient of several grants supporting her research. The culmination of my experience with providing palliative and end of life care to a variety of patients in various settings, research, post-doctoral training, and teaching, have created the foundation for dissemination of an innovative and important service for persons nearing the end of life. |
