| Introduction | Clear Visions of our World is a year long, interdisciplinary curriculum for media literacy. It is an examination of the ways that media, both old and new reach us, reflect and fracture the world around us and affect the ways that we interact with the world and the ways that we act on this information. This program is designed to help students understand the rapidly shifting media landscape and allow them to make informed decisions about their lives and their futures. This course of study will utilize cross-curriculum projects to develop mathematic skills and language arts literacy, cultivate analytical and reasoning skills to give students the tools to make informed decisions and take deliberate actions to improve their lives and have a positive impact on society. Clear Visions is intended to help students make real-world connections between the information and skills learned in school and the application of those lessons to their lives. It is a program that is designed to foster a student’s sense of pride in accomplishment, and a feeling of control that comes with having an understanding of the world and possessing the instruments for progress. |
